Wisdom University, Art and Healing Masters Program goal:

The Wisdom University, Art and Healing Masters Program has three objectives. The first objective is for the student to be able to use art as way of healing in the her or his own life. This is art as healing for personal self transformation and healing. Second, students will have the opportunity to integrate art as way of healing into his or her professional lives and lifework. Three,  students will have the opportunity to integrate art as way of healing to heal their community and heal the earth- this can include a global healing art project or a  healing project for the community in which they live. We will provide detailed  pathways for each objectives. In the seven intensives,  we will facilitate the students journey in one, two, or three of these directions. Students can choose to specialize in healing the  self, others, community or the earth, or work on all three. The program will culminate in an actual  lived experience project that will use art (visual arts, ceremony, word, music, or dance) to heal themselves, others, community or the earth.

Our intention is to:

Prepare you for participation in art and healing as a professional
Prepare you for working in, directing or setting up program in a  hospital, school, old age home, prison, etc.
Prepare you to be a healing artist to heal yourself, others, a community or the earth
Help you heal yourself or others ( family, loved ones, children, parents, hospitals patients, community) with art.
Give you tools for self transformation and personal growth

The Wisdom University Masters Program in Art and Healing is  a two to three year process that immerses the participant in art and healing and gives them the skills and tools to change their life. This unique program is the only masters in art and healing ( as opposed to art therapy or expressive arts). It is designed to facilitate personal, career and community activism and change. The seven intensives can be taken in any order, students can enroll at any time. Each year we will offer an intensive in Gainesville, Florida, in Tinos, Greece. The first intensive in Gainesville will be an introduction to art and healing,  the second and in depth intensive in music and dance. The first Tinos intensive will be about the Eleusian Mysteries with a ritual in Delos, the second about the goddess with a ritual in  Delphi.. We also have available a month long intensive in hospitals art and healing at Shands, Arts In Medicine, Gainesville and a week long on the art of caring at College of Nursing, University of Florida, Gainesville.  When a student completes this masters they will be to make art to heal themselves ,  teach art and healing, run an hospital program, create and build community programs and be an innovator in this new field. Present job opportunities in hospital programs are increasing  and will be a viable career goal. This is a holistic program with great  depth,  grounded in traditional hospital and university programs and in the international flow of this field. It is a proven life changing program whose goal is to transform and plug into our culture in a substantive way.  The circle of Gainesville, and Tinos is a ceremonial and actual world wheel for transformation and change that leads participants on an exciting journey.
